JOHN AND LANCEINE ZIEGLER – July 07 - FOREST
Just a note to let you know we had a great time in Cameroon. What an exciting adventure. The first camp at Dja was just beautiful and Juan was a great fellow that enjoyed the outdoors as much as we do.
Arrived in camp after a ride down river in the dark. Hiked six hours from camp into the Rain Forrest. We spent 3 days and two nights in the Rain Forrest. Slept in Hammocks. Chased the elephant. Enjoyed all of time at the Dja camp. Transferred to Lognia and got to go in by airplane. Was met by Geoffrey and had a 2 hour ride to the Lognia Camp. Super camp and Sybille took great care of all camp matters. Geoffrey is a real professional and probably the best bongo ph anywhere. Very exciting chasing Bongos. Had to have Sybille staple a dog after a Bongo got him. Lanceine got a great Bongo. Drove east to west almost the entire length of Cameroon. 17 hours of dirt road the first day! What a great trip! Hope to hunt in Cameroon again!
Thanks!
HERBERT ATKINSON – June 07 - FOREST
I am finally back and able to send email. I want you to know what a wonderful hunt I had! You are, of course, right about the forest. You just cannot make something happen. Luck is so important. I am disappointed at not taking more animals, but it is not anyone's fault, just difficult hunting. We almost got buffalo one day and almost got Sitatunga on two different days. They just did not cooperate. It rained often the first week, but no rain at all the second week. No one has control over that either, and you know the results of no rain in the forest.
Stephane is an amazing PH! Very knowledgeable, in control, always has a plan, and tries very hard. He gets so frustrated when things do not work out. We wanted so much for me to be more successful. I had a great time with him! Everything about the camp was even more than I expected. What a beautiful camp! I also have pictures for you of the new fly camp he built.
I am very very pleased with the Bongo I took! He is very old, big bodied, heavy horned, with well polished horns, even on the front of the horns. It was a great hunt and I shot him without use of the dogs. The Blue Duiker I took is a very good one and will rank #23 in the SCI Record Book.
All of your staff did a wonderful job of taking care of me and I think the charter cost was less than I expected.
Many many thanks
JIM SHOCKEY – March 07 – SAVANNAH
Your operation is excellent, equipment top quality, staff superior (including Guav and Sadi) and of course your hunting concession as you know is as good as they get.
Leaving the country was easy as can be, we didn't have any waits or lineups and AmadoU was really efficient and helpful. It was totally different than the disaster I had last safari with that other outfitter, this was so much better going with you this time.
I am looking forward to going back hunting with you in Cameroon, and anywhere else your father might be thinking of opening up hunting areas. It was such a pleasure to work with professional outfitters, hopefully we can work together in the future again.
WAYNE LYSTER – March 07 - SAVANNAH
I would like to thank you and your crew for the really good safari under difficult conditions. The camp that I stayed was in really good order. The camp was clean, the food was great and your camp manager Sadi was first class and extremely accommodating. My professional hunter, Guav Johnson, might be the best PH in all of Africa. He was everything you could ask from a client's perspective and I am amazed that he is only 29 years old. I am very glad that he was my ph.
Thanks again for all of your help.
Sincerely
DAVE LOMAS – February 07 – SAVANNAH
I'm finally writing you to say thanks and to tell you I had a great experience at Djibao and Mayo Oldiri camps. The people were wonderful and the game plentiful. I got some very mature animals that have had their chances to donate to the gene pool.
I thought Central Asia was tough to get around in, but inside Cameroon, travel has its own set of issues. You just cannot be in any hurry.
When I was getting ready for the trip, I worried that I would be treated like a second class citizen due to my not hunting Eland. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I was treated as well as could be expected by your camp managers. They even baked a birthday cake!
Thank you again
CHUCK MUSCHANY – January 07 – SAVANNAH
Please send my best on to Ahmadou, Joaquin and Guy - they're the BEST!! I look forward to being able to come back and hunt again with "the crew". Thanks for ALL your help getting us over there and all the support/arrangements you do "behind the scenes".
VINCE KELLY - June 06 - FOREST
I just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic forest
Safari. I realize how very difficult everything is in
the forest. I also realize that hunts do not always
go according to plan and one must be flexible and
maintain a positive attitude and outlook.
May Oldiri did a great job in my opinion with a very
difficult challenge, especially after Stephan got
really sick. Guy is a very nice man and a superb
professional hunter."....(one of the best I have hunted with) and he has a very
good rapore with the Pygmies. He treats them very
well and with respect. When he has to be stern and
firm with them as a boss he is. But when they do a
good job and we are successful, he rewards them."
Geoffroy is a fantastic hunter
too and has Bongo hunting perfected to a science.
Boumba North is a great area and heavy with game,
especially elephant, Peters & Yellowback duiker.
Thanks for a very successful hunt. I enjoyed
meeting your father and the effort both he and you
went to in order to make my safari a success.

CAMERON HOPKINS - May 06 - FOREST
I wanted to let you know what an outstanding professional hunter you have in
Geoffroy de Gentile. He runs an extremely efficient, comfortable camp. He
knows the forest and how to hunt. I was thoroughly impressed with him in
every respect. Geoffroy was exceptional in every regard.
I was particularly impressed with Geoffroy's zeal for hunting, passion for
wildlife and his comprehensive knowledge of the forest. He struck me as a
true hunter/naturalist as the great hunters were in the early days of
African exploration. He truly respects wildlife and has dedicated his life
to spending time in nature. I was grealy impressed with his level of
commitment.
Geoffroy de Gentile is the best PH I've ever hunted with and that's saying a
lot.
HOWARD McCUTCHAN - May 06 - FOREST
I am now home from a wonderful trip to you concession. Please convey my
thanks to your father for allowing me to experience the sights and sounds of
the rain forest and especially the beautiful butterflies! I enjoyed Stepane
very much and it was nice to see Guav again and Amadou and the rest do a
wonderful job with meet and greet.
Thanks again so much for everything Raquel!
Warm regards,
Howard
MARK BLAZIS - May 06 - SAVANNAH
I had a GREAT experience at Mayo Oldiri. Thank you! I would go back in a
heartbeat, but only in December or January when you need a blanket to sleep.
As for staff, I LOVED Sadi. He is a GREAT asset to you, kind, intense,
passionate, helpful, and knowledgeable. He is the perfect host, quite
engaging in conversation and willing to share thoughts and experiences. As
for the cooking staff, Abel and Deli, both the waiter and cook should be
commended. They are AWESOME WONDERFUL!!!! The service was world-class with
the attention given to us.
The gun you rented me was perfect. As long as you have world-class scopes
on the guns, your hunters should get their game and be able to avoid the
hassle of importing their own. I recommend the 8X68 for anyone coming to
Mayo Oldiri without their own gun. As for buffalo, that might be something
else. They might want their own big gun.
I am indebted to you for providing us this great opportunity. You really do
a good job and obviously do a lot of planning and preparation and thinking.
Oh, by the way, a final highlight was visiting Govner's village school,
where I paid some teachers and the village chief some money to meet the
students. I taught them English songs and vocabulary and they showed us
their songs and dances. They cheerfully ran toward us waving happily as we
drove down the road away from their village. It was a scene I will never
forget.
I forgot to tell you how great a driver Abdou is. Professional quality.
Your people in Douala are also good. The scene at the airports is a
headache that they are absolutely NECESSARY to resolve.
DAVE DILLARD - April 06 - FOREST
If it was not for Stephane, I would not have gotten a Bongo. He went
over, and above on that last day of the hunt. It was definitely more
difficult than I expected. I have never sweated as much as I did that day in
my entire life! You have a great bunch of guys, trackers, helpers, and
skinners. The pigmy's are an easy going, good natured, tough bunch of
fellows. I really enjoyed being around them. We just could not find a Bongo
that would stop. They were all grey hound running sons a bitches! Dan was
the lucky one. A 27 inch Sitatuga, a dandy Bongo that he tracked for less
than an hour.
We are talking pretty seriously about booking the Savannah hunt with you
guys in 2008.
Thanks
DON ISGAR - February 06 - SAVANNAH
We just returned from our fantastic trip to Camaroon.
We worked especially hard for the buffalo with Jose. He is a fantastic
PH. Guav was also very competent. I would very highly recommend
either of them. My highest recommendation is for Jose. He was
very cognisant of my foot problems at all times and would always
ask if I was up to little walking.
I only hunted with Guav for 5 days and the remaining time with
Jose. The staff could not have been better. All were especially
friendly and helpful.
Thanks
Don Isgar
WARREN PARKER - February 06 - SAVANNAH
First off I found that the Camps were excellent an well staffed, good food
and very professional Guides that had very good knowledge of the area and
the species that we were hunting.
Properly the most astute to detail from the staff at the home office , this
is why your hunts are so successful and your dad is a very lucky man to have
a daughter like you to run it for him.
I will be writing a story of my hunt for Safari Magazine
WARREN
ALBERT CHERAMIE - February 06 - SAVANNAH
Thanks to you all for working with me on my Safari to Cameroon,as you know
by now I was fortune to have collected 1 Buffalo 1 Rone 1 Watterbuck 1
heartabeest 1 Cob and 1 Bushbuck, all in 5 days hunting. It worked out just
right I hope that you are as satisfied as I am. You have two beautiful Camps
in that area. Again thank you both, and don't be afraid to use me as a
reference I will be very glad to give you very good report on you and your
Safari operation and your camps. For you have a very fine group of people
working for you and I commend you for it.
MIKE HAGEN - February 06 - SAVANNAH
Had a wonderful time and safari. Thank you for taking such great care of me
while I was there. Joaquin and Luis saw to all my needs, they run a great
camp. I was especially impressed by everyone moving me around to the
different camps to help accomplice our goals. Thanks again, let me know if I
may be of any assistance to you.
ARMAND BRACHMAN - February 06 -SAVANNAH
I thought that I would drop you a quick note.
I had a fantastic time on my safari. Everyone that I met that
was associated with Mayo Oldiri Safaris was extremely professional
and courteous. Cameroon is truly a beautiful country. Your father
can be very proud with the organization that he has created.
Gilles is one of the best PH's that I have ever hunted with. Your
new concession that I hunted contains a tremendous amount of quality
game. During the 8 days that I was actually hunting we observed
Lord Derby Eland on 5 different days. The camp accomdadations
were very nice and the food was very good. I was able to fill
my quota of animals, including an outstanding buffalo, in 8 days
with the exception of the Kob that I obtained at the Mayo Oldiri
camp on day 10 of my trip.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have a great safari.
Please convey my best regards to everyone in Madrid.
Thank you again,
Armand Brachman

ROD & CAROL WOOLEY - January 06- SAVANNAH
Carol and I just returned from our hunt last evening. It is nice to be home.
We had a most enjoyable hunt. All our desired trophies were successfully
obtained, and were of excellent quality. Your camps were very comfortable,
the managers, PH and staff were very attentive, the food was excellent, and
the assistance provided at the airports was fast, professional, and also
very necessary in dealing with the endless line of officials wanting some
obscure bit of information or some form or other. We were especially
pleased with Sadi and Guav at the Nduel camp, and request that you schedule
us to hunt with Guav on our forest hunt in May, 2007. Please feel free to
use us as references if you desire. In all, we had an excellent
hunt and are really looking forward to our forest hunt with you in 2007.
BILL STRATTON - January 06 - SAVANNAH
Thank you. I would be very proud if you choose to
use my eland photo or others from my safari with your company. I had a
wonderful time with your people and compliment you with your staff. Sadi and
Juaquin are wonderful
people and work very hard to please the client.
Sincerely,
Bill
STEPHANIE & JEREL WOTTRICH - June 05 - FOREST
I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the
amazing trip my husband and I had in Cameroon with Mayo Oldiri
Safaris (June 2005). From the moment we met Raquel in Reno, everything
was handled so smoothly for us. We were growing more and more
excited as the date to leave Texas arrived. Ahmadou met us at
the airport in Duoala and handled our entrance into the country
with speed and ease. Stephane showed us around Duoala on the day
before our charter arrived, and Antonio expressed his utmost professionalism
when he informed us of some changes to be made to our itinerary.
We were fortunate to experience two forest camps, Boumba (for
4 days) and Lognia (for 12 days) and to hunt with two great professional
hunters. Stephane was very knowledgeable and friendly, and worked
hard for us in Boumba.
When we arrived in Lognia, I must say that both Jerel and I were
amazed at Geoffroy’s “paradise in the rainforest”. It surpassed
all of our expectations! The camp was run so smoothly, under Sybille
& Geoffroy’s leadership. I had a wonderful time bonding with Simossa,
and learning all about the Baka Pygmies and their culture and
traditions, as well as the history and foreseeable future of the
forest. I can confidently say that Geoffroy was prepared for any
emergency that may come our way, his aptitude, skill, and obvious
bonds with the Bakas was really an amazing thing to see. In my
opinion, he is the best professional hunter that I have ever encountered.
He is passionate about the land, its people and its animals, as
well as the hunters who stay with him. I have never met another
PH who was as active in antipoaching and improving the land he
is hunting.
Jerel did get a very nice bongo towards the end of the safari,
as well as some duikers and a mongoose. The sheer excitement and
joy that went through everyone on the day of the Bongo harvest
was phenomenal. And a tear came to everyone’s eyes when Geoffroy
cheered Jean 4 after the bongo was taken. We all know he was with
us that day, and on everyone’s mind. I cried when we left camp
at the end of our safari. The rainforest touched a part of my
soul that nowhere else I have been has.
When it comes the time for me to hunt my Bongo, you can rest assured
that it will be with Geoffroy and Mayo Oldiri. I will also tell
all of my friends who hunt internationally that you are the company
to book with. This was the best hunting experience of my life.
It was by far the most difficult hunt physically that I have ever
been on, but the end result was made all the more gratifying by
the hard work that went into the harvest. I look with great anticipation
to my return.
MARK BUCHANAN - May 2005 - FOREST
I had a absolutely wonderful trip to the unique
and amazing rain forest. I cant wait to visit your booth next
year and tell the hunters all about the hunt!!!!! Like always Barry
and I had a great time with Guav and Stephan the laughing and
humor was non stop. Of course you have to laugh to forget
about the bugs and the itching!!! When we get to Reno, please
make time to go out with Barry and I so we can share all the funny stories
The camp was great, the food was excellent, the staff was great,
one again Mayo Oldiri and your masterful skills have delivered a first class
hunt!

NICK BULLOCK - April 05 - SAVANNAH
Dear Raquel,
Just a note to say a very breath felt thank you for the most incredible
hunt of my life thus far. It made me feel good to work for my
trophy and I can honestly say that that this is what I consider
to be real hunting. You run a fine operation from top to bottom
and gave us the most professional , hardworking and knowledgeable
P.H. I have ever had the pleasure of hunting with.
My trophy Eland will be a constant reminder of the hunt and the
pleasure of time shared with good people.
If you would like to use me as a referral for your company it
would be my pleasure to do so.
Thank you once again for everything.

we had a wonderful hunt and a great time. Your
staff was helpful as they could be and made the trip smooth and
the hunting comfortable. We feel this is the best hunt we've been
on, and we have hunted with some pretty good outfitters.
HERB ATKINSON -January 2005 -

Our hunt was completely beyond our expectations
in every way. The attention to every detail in your camps, vehicles,
staff, professional hunters, and amenities is unsurpassed by any
hunting operation in Africa.
Hunting report
Dear Don,
Attached are two photos of the Lord Derby Eland, and one photo
of the Western Savanna Buffalo I took with Mayo Oldiri Safaris
in Cameroon in January 2005. The Eland scores 127 6/8 SCI. He
measures 50 X 49 3/4 X 14 (each base). There are still 50"
Eland in Cameroon! Don't let the ads fool you. This company is
unsurpassed in service and quality of concessions. They are 100%
on Eland for the past three years with a 50" average. Their
PH's, camp staff, safari camps (which are permanent camps), chef's,
and attention to detail are second to no one anywhere in Africa.
Once you are in camp it is hard to believe you are in Cameroon!
This company gets an A+ rating in every category that you might
score.
My hunt was for 14 days and I took all ten species I was after
in 12 days. All species were very abundant! Besides the Eland
and Buffalo, I took Red-flanked Duiker, Nigerian Bohor Reedbuck,
Western Hartebeest, Western Kob, Sing-Sing Waterbuck, Western
Bush Duiker, Harnessed Bushbuck, and Oribi. All were SCI record
book animals.

Both my wife and I were very impressed with
the quality of your equipment. Your staff was dedicated to our
comfort, safety and success in obtaining my trophies.
CRAIG BODDINGTON -March 2004 -
SAVANNAH
Honestty, I´ve hunted in Africa something
ridiculous like 50 times, and you have one of the very best outfits
I´ve ever seen. Ezpecially impressive given the logistical
difficulties in Cameroon (as compared to suthern Africa, for instance).
We had a really great hunt. I was very impressed by the amount
of game in your areas, both Oldiri and Nduell. Guav Johnson was
very, very good.. a real crackerjack of a PH.
CAMERON HOPKINS -March 2004 -
SAVANNAH
We had a FANTASTIC hunt with Stephane and
Guav. Your camps (we hunted from Mayo Oldiri and Mayo Nduel) are
absolutely superb. The amount of game was unbelievable. I had
expected to see only a few animals a fay, but we saw lots and
lots of hartebeest, kob, duiker, waterbuck and, yes, roan. Lots
of roan! Your areas are exceptionally well maintained and the
amount of game proves that you are employing the very best game
management techniques.
MARK BUCHANAN -February 2004 - SAVANNAH
I would like to thank both of you for one
my greatest hunting trips ever. The entire trip exceeded my expectations,
from the accommodations, food, the quality of animals, the nice
staff.
DARREL MITCHELL -January 2004 -
SAVANNAH
The hunting trip to Cameroon was fantastic! The
animals were all good, and the eland was exceptional. Guav is
the best PH I have hunt ed with. I would like to thank everyone
ay Mayo Oldiri for seeing that I had a good safari. The eland
we took was huge! The trophy of a lifetime!
